An artist that is in direct contact with life. Completely surrendered—a complete vessel. Not degrees away; no identity in the way. What would that look like?

The ocean, not its fluctuations. The winds, not the leaves swaying. The sky, not the birds flying. The canvas, not the paint. Freedom. What would that look like?

What would that look like? Existing in my own contentment, basking in my soul, in one flow of art. Life paints; I step aside. I am the canvas and the paint, and time regulates the world as I am watching. Alive without a name. My art, my door to freedom.

Aligned with creation, I submit to life. Through me, art is born. My authentic soul expression is art. Art flows naturally from my being, as if without my involvement. I fly, float, and free fall. I have no walls to creation; they are dissolved at once. Waves crashing on the shore in silence.

I am my art; my art is me. ‘I am’ is all my lips dare utter. I am—my art, life. I am.

‘Ich habe kein litterarisches Interesse, sondern bestehe aus Litteratur; ich bin nichts anderes und kann nichts anderes sein. (I have no literary interest but consist of literature; I am nothing else, and I cannot be anything else.)’—Franz Kafka

‘I do not evolve; I am. There is, in art, neither past nor future. Art that is not in the present will never be.’ ‘When I enter the studio, I leave my body at the door the way the Moslems leave their shoes when they enter the mosque, and I only allow my spirit to go in there and paint.’ ‘It took me my whole life to learn to draw like a child.’—Pablo Picasso

I was sitting in a house of glass; I am the glass, I am the walls, but sun rays penetrate my soul. When art starts to dance through my hands, I come alive, and walls they melt as if there never were a house. There is no glass; there is but life. There is no life for the recluse.

Why do I keep myself from life when I can reenter life right now? Art is my door to freedom. I command my past to dissolve. A fool lets the past touch the canvas. A master lets life touch the canvas. What I can leave at the door isn’t me, isn’t truth, is but debris, and leaves shall fall for leaves to bloom.

It’s a little like dying. Complete trust. Letting go. Saying goodbye to misery feels out of place because it has been accumulated for a long time. A clogged artist is trying. But there is no trying. There is but being. You are art, or you are not. You are life, or you are death. Death is not art. Art is alive.

Life goes: Being alive, forgetting the self, taking on foreign forms, painfully living fake lives, waking shockingly to that very fact, addressing the gunk, molding, then completely surrendering the mask, and then returning to the authentic self. From life to death to life again.

Life loses itself to the projected-manifactured-fractured-fabricated illusion of ‘this is me’—The naming of something that it’s not. Life needs no name. Forms have no life.

There’s nowhere to hide.

‘Art is one layer away from God, but when it’s done right, it is God.’—Lila Tace (‘God And Art: From Pain To God Through Art’)

There are no walls. We are the walls. When we surrender, there is life. When artists create art, they taste life. A spiritual journey is deconstructing the mask, making it habitable until the curtain falls.

When there is mud in the water and transformation happens, the entire water gets cloudy. Healing isn’t pretty. But when the mud transforms into the light, the water is clearer than before. Pressure leads to release and transformation. Patterns are realized and let go of. Your destiny is the destiny that belongs to the world. Heal and capture that growth in art. Your work is your salvation. The meditation practice of an artist is making art. Your art will come alive as you come alive. Your art will share the truth as you become the truth. The past falls off you, and you paint from a state of pure being, sitting in your soul. In the world but not of the world. Remember. A master lets life touch the canvas! Heal so that you may impart life by becoming life yourself. You can only create what you are. Who are you? Purge the pain by observing it. Feel it from a distance and exhaust it to resolution. Surrendering it to God. The journey of the arts is the journey of the soul. It’s a long journey, but true artists have no choice but to walk it.

The Road For Artists:
It Starts Within 📿

Mission

Artists are dried up, thirsty, and starving as they lost their connection to the divine. They long to be plugged in, reconnect, and cultivate that connection. I am a conduit. I infuse my words with grace through a state of pure being. I plug you in.

Cultivation

Become an instrument of creation through spiritual growth. Spiritual growth is the practice of surrender & release of layers of accumulated past (fabricated protection mechanism in response to trauma: identity structure/ false self) that results in complete alignment with life through uncovering the authentic self, your life's task, and direct experience of God.

Lila Tace
